I will stamp all over 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to promote the upcoming bout.
Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Paul rather targeted ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
