Top Selection

This Satirical Thriller

Director Coralie Fargeat's daring satire examines the tyranny of women's appearance along with the perceived horrors of advancing years. Hollywood star Demi Moore offers a masterful acting turn as Elisabeth, a 50-year-old actress forced into hosting an aerobics show on television. Forced aside due to her unscrupulous employer Harvey, she turns to a mysterious and horrifying procedure titled this experimental method. This generates a younger clone portrayed by Margaret Qualley, resulting in an increasingly vampiric relationship between them. This Friday, the streaming service Paramount+

This Mystery Thriller

This suspenseful thriller includes Keira Knightley playing Laura, a top-notch writer who opts for a break from reporting on international wars to embark on a high-end voyage with a gravely sick wealthy inheritor and donor, her spouse, as well as other affluent passengers. Yet once a mysterious woman falls into the sea overnight and all passengers insists she wasn't real, the reporter's sleuthing skills awaken. Available now, on Netflix

Presence Film

The acclaimed director pushes his directorial skills with this nifty ghostly tale captured wholly from the perspective of the spirit. After a clan featuring mother Rebekah and her distressed teen Chloe settles into their recent residence, the lens – AKA the Presence – shadows their actions. The daughter appears conscious of the poltergeist, and it seems guarding her. But why? The premise is enjoyable that remains concise, featuring a surprise you might not see coming. Saturday 11 October, afternoon and evening times, the Sky channel

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

The iconic actor fully commits to his eccentric image in this self-referential adventure. He portrays a narcissistic celebrity named Nicolas Cage who accepts a lucrative offer to attend a birthday party at a Mediterranean location for the wealthy Javi Gutierrez. Recruited by the CIA to gather intel on the potential kingpin, the actor's unique performing skills is put to the test. Saturday 11 October, 9pm, Channel 4

The Black Phone Horror

Scott Derrickson's contained scarefest remains effective without requiring a follow-up. Taking place in 1970s Colorado, multiple disappearances has left the children anxious. After Finney gets captured by “the Grabber” and imprisoned in a dungeon, he dreads a fatal end. Yet the non-functional line mounted nearby repeatedly calls, with eerie communicators providing assistance, as the intuitive nightmares of his sister Gwen could save him. A genuinely scary movie. This Saturday, 10.50pm, the Film4 channel

This Dramatic Portrait

In the conflict between spirituality and money, the victory is clear for materialism in Showalter's delightfully tacky film adaptation regarding the shamed religious broadcaster and her criminal husband. Garfield portrays the corrupt Bakker, who states at the beginning, asserting religious justification for riches. He and Tammy Faye commence profiting from the American public's religious faith. It's an extravaganza of bad interior design, bad makeup and bad faith, though Jessica Chastain succeeds to show the character with compassion. October 14th, late night, Film4

The Spy Mystery

This period's second offering from the filmmaker is a spy mystery as sharp similar to the collars used by Fassbender's UK spy. He receives a mission with uncovering a double agent within their ranks from a group of five – including is Kathryn, played by Cate Blanchett. Both actors are masters of deadpan cool, resulting in an engaging mental battle of deception or honesty unfolds. Additional actors take part the smart espionage amusement. This Friday, 8.05am, 12.55pm, 8pm, Sky Cinema Premiere
